Educational Visits-Junior Governors

Houses of Parliament

On Friday 23rd September, the Junior Governors Team had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament. We set off from Abbey Wood train station with a real sense of excitement; this was a huge privilege and we couldn't wait to begin the tour.

A short while later we arrived at the Houses of Parliament and began our tour. We were shown all the key areas including the House of Commons and the House of Lords, we saw amazing areas such as the Queen's Robing room and learnt the importance of each area. We were told some really interesting facts such as the Queen not being allowed in the House of Commons!

Overall, we had a really inspiring day at the Houses of Parliament and came back feeling motivated and excited. Our role as Junior Governors is vital within the school as we are the voice of the student population, we are determined to make a change for the good.
